Thanks to all who came to the Leicester Square Theatre and watched on NextUp our Christmas comedy show. Together, you raised an amazing £5,097, helping the charity to support more women, children, mothers and babies to address their critical health problems through groups in rural, remote areas.
The proceeds came from on-the-night donations, tickets and streaming sales. Thanks to all who gave their support and enjoyed live comedy for a fantastic cause.
Such support will further our life-changing, life-saving work in communities across Ethiopia, Malawi, Kenya and Ghana.
This includes supporting women through pregnancy and childbirth, giving teenagers access to contraception and sexual health services, and creating action to overcome and mitigate problems affecting communities.
it also covers work adapting toys with health messaging, stimulating children through play whilst alerting parents and caregivers to problems that need medical attention.
A massive thanks to our brilliant line-up of incredible comedians: Rosie Jones, Iain Stirling, Mark Watson, Sophie Duker, Paul Sinha, Chloe Petts, Ria Lina, Esther Manito, Katie Green and our wonderful MC, Vix Leyton.
Here’s some photos from the evening, thanks to NextUp Comedy and Bethan McConnell.
Special thanks to stand-up comedy streaming service NextUp. Their coverage allowed hundreds of extra people to tune-in all across the UK and the world. They also generously donated the first payment of new subscriptions to the charity. WeGotTickets also offered fantastic support in spreading the word about the show, collecting donations and giving back a portion of the booking fees back.
Our next comedy show will be in May 2023. To be first to know the line-up and get priority ticket booking, please subscribe to our newsletter - where you’ll also get great stories about the charity’s work with women around the world.
