Several brilliant comedians are headlining the returning Cracking Comedy in aid of Women and Children First on Monday 5 December at the Leicester Square Theatre, including some of the best loved comedians on TV and breakthrough stars from this year’s Edinburgh Fringe.
Everyone who buys a ticket to the show will help raise money for Women and Children First, an organisation that helps women, children, mothers and their babies to survive and thrive in some of the world’s most rural, remote communities.
Rosie Jones has quickly become a must-see act on the UK comedy circuit, having starred on hit shows such as ‘The Last Leg’, ‘Cats Does Countdown’ and travelogue series ‘Trip Hazard’. She’s also completed two sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Also taking part in the evening is Edinburgh Festival award winner and Time Out Critic’s Choice award winner, Mark Watson. His recent TV credits include ‘QI’, ‘Taskmaster’ and ‘Bear Grylls’ Celebrity Island’.
Lou Sanders will be bringing her “endearingly daft” (The Guardian) brand of off-beat humour, which has seen her on TV programmes including ‘Taskmaster’ and ‘Mel Giedroyc: Unforgivable’.
Jordan Gray, whose show ‘Is It a Bird?’ wowed audiences at the Edinburgh Fringe, will also be taking part. She won The British Comedy Guide's "Comedian's Comedian" Award, NextUp’s Biggest Comedy Award, and became the first transgender comedian to be nominated for Dave’s Edinburgh Comedy Award.
Also joining them are renowned comedians Paul Sinha, whose ‘One Sinha Lifetime’ show was one of the best reviewed at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe (British Comedy Guide), and Chloe Petts, who’s becoming one of the most exciting new acts on the circuit.
Ria Lina is the only Filipina comedian in British stand up and is known for being fearless, provocative and very funny, as seen on ‘Have I Got News for You’. Rising star Vix Leyton and host of ‘The Comedy Arcade’ podcast will MC, making a name for herself as the Welsh princess of petty.
Mikey Rosato, Chief Executive of Women and Children First, said, “This is such an exciting line-up, featuring several hilarious comedians. Thanks to them all for their support. Come and join us for an evening of great comedy, and help us empower the world’s most rural, remote communities to survive and thrive. You can help us change lives.”
Vix Leyton says, “I’m delighted to be back guiding the audience through an unbelievable line up of comedy talent. It is a real privilege to be a small part of the amazing work that Women and Children First are doing around the world. They provide the tools rural communities need to build a better, safer future for parents, babies and children."
Tickets are available now from the Leicester Square Theatre website at £27 each, plus booking fees. The last show with James Acaster sold out in a week, pre-booking is strongly advised.
