An extraordinary line-up of comedians will perform at the Leicester Square Theatre on Monday 4th May for Women and Children First’s comedy night, with tickets now on sale.
Everyone who buys a ticket to the show will help raise money to support women, children, mothers and their babies in some of the world’s poorest communities.
Among the hilarious performers is Marcus Brigstocke, widely regarded as one of Britain’s major comedy, writing and acting talents. The sharp satirist will be performing ahead of his new stand-up tour coming later this year and is a regular on TV and radio shows.
Also starring is renowned comedian Shappi Khorsandi. She’s appeared on programmes including Have I Got News For You, QI and Just A Minute. The multi-talented Shappi is also a novelist and is currently touring with her Confessions of a Club Comic.
Joining the headliners is Mock the Week regular Rhys James. The emerging talent and sizzling wit of Rhys has also been displayed on Comedy Central’s Roast Battle and Russell Howard’s Stand Up Central. He has also hosted a Radio 4 programme, Rhys James Is…
Other excellent comedians on the bill include rising star Suzi Ruffell, who’s been voted Britain’s Best Club Comic in the 2019 Chortle Awards.
The talented Rosie Jones will also be bringing her infectious laugh, high energy and brazen, wicked sense of humour to the show. Critically acclaimed Jen Brister, as seen on Frankie Boyle’s New World Order and Sara Pascoe’s Comedy Lectures, will also take to the stage.
Returning to this year’s show are award-winning musical comedy duo (and sisters) Flo & Joan. They will be performing more hilarious songs, following their appearance on Live at the Apollo and The Royal Variety Performance.
Compering the evening will be the brilliant Abigoliah Schamaun, whose commanding, punchy stand-up has seen her touted as ‘One to Watch’ by The List.
Dr Mikey Rosato, Chief Executive of Women and Children First, said, “Thanks to the comedians for their amazing generosity in coming together to help women and children survive and thrive worldwide. It should be an incredible night of entertainment. Come along, enjoy the show and help give vital, life-saving, life-changing support.”
