An incredible line-up of comedians will perform at the Leicester Square Theatre on Monday 20th September for Women and Children First’s charity comedy night, with tickets now on sale.
Everyone who buys a ticket to the show will help raise money to support women, children, mothers and their babies in some of the world’s poorest communities.
Among the hilarious performers is Mock the Week regular Ed Gamble. He has received acclaim from his brilliant pod-cast Off Menu with co-creator James Acaster, as well as his regular Radio X Sunday morning show with Matthew Crosby. He is touring his new show ‘Electric’ in 2022.
Also starring is renowned comedian Shaparak Khorsandi. She’s appeared on programmes including Have I Got News For You, QI and Just A Minute. The multi-talented Shaparak is also a novelist and will be touring her new show ‘It Was The 90s!’ in the Autumn.
Joining the headliners is the talented Rhys James, who will be bringing his sizzling wit, as seen on Mock the Week and his Radio 4 programme, Rhysearch.
Other excellent comedians on the bill include rising star Suzi Ruffell, who’s been voted Britain’s Best Club Comic in the 2019 Chortle Awards.
The critically acclaimed Jen Brister, as seen on Frankie Boyle’s New World Order and Sara Pascoe’s Comedy Lectures, will also take to the stage.
Returning to this year’s show are award-winning musical comedy duo (and sisters) Flo & Joan. They will be performing more hilarious songs, following their appearance on Live at the Apollo and The Royal Variety Performance.
Compering the evening will be the brilliant Abigoliah Schamaun, whose commanding, punchy stand-up has seen her touted as ‘One to Watch’ by The List.
Dr Mikey Rosato, Chief Executive of Women and Children First, said, “Thanks to the comedians for their amazing generosity in coming together to help women and children survive and thrive worldwide. It should be an incredible night of entertainment. Come along, enjoy the show and help give vital, life-saving, life-changing support.”
