A sensational line-up of comedians will be performing at the Leicester Square Theatre on Monday 13th May for the charity Women and Children First’s inaugural comedy night.
Tickets for Cracking Comedy In Aid of Women and Children First are now on sale.
The comedians have generously given their time to put on a fantastic show, helping raise money for women and children in the world’s poorest communities.
Among the incredible line-up of comedians is Josh Widdicombe. Josh is best known from the twice BAFTA nominated, award winning Channel 4 series The Last Leg, as well as his critically acclaimed BBC sitcom JOSH and as team captain on BBC 2’s Insert Name Here.
Also starring in the show is actress and comedian Kerry Godliman. The charmingly straight-talking, quick-witted Kerry is one of the country’s best comedians. She’s been on Michael McIntyre’s Big Show, Live at the Apollo and Taskmaster, winning the latest series.
Joining the headliners is John Robins. An Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner (formerly the Perrier Award) in 2017, John hosts a weekly show on Radio X along with friend and fellow comedian, Elis James. He will be touring the country with his show, Hot Shame, this year.
Other comedians on the bill include Jess Robinson, who appeared on Britain’s Got Talent and is renowned for her impressions of musicians including Kate Bush, Adele and Cheryl. Laura Lexx recently starred on Live at The Apollo and won the Comedians Choice Award as Best Performer in 2018. Sarah Keyworth is a stand-up comedian, whose Edinburgh Fringe show ‘Dark Horse’ won Herald Angel and Pleasance Theatre awards in 2018.
Also starring among the performers are Dane Baptiste, who made comedy history in 2014 as the first black British act to be nominated for a Comedy Award at the Edinburgh Fringe. Flo & Joan are the British musical comedy duo Nicola and Rosie Dempsey, who won Chortle’s Best Music and Variety Act Award in 2018.
Bec Hill will be showing her talent for incorporating arts and crafts into her stand-up routines, creating a style she calls ‘paper-puppetry’. They will be joined by comedy sketch duo Giants, who The Guardian described as being one of their ‘Shows we Recommend’.
Mikey Rosato, Chief Executive of Women and Children First, said, “A huge thanks to all the comedians for their generosity and time in coming together to support a wonderful cause. It should be a phenomenal night of entertainment, we look forward to people coming along, enjoying the show and helping raise money to support women and children worldwide.”
Tickets are now on sale at £22 each, plus booking fees. For more information about the comedians, including video clips, and how to get tickets, click on the button below.
