Over 1,100 women in Amhara, Ethiopia worked together to improve their sexual and reproductive health. This is thanks to the pilot of community health groups focussed on these issues, run in partnership with MSI Reproductive Choices.

Women and Children First, working with MSI Reproductive Choices, are testing the use of community health groups. These are adapted to improve uptake of family planning and sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services in the Amhara region.

Thanks to Women and Children First's wonderful supporters, the charity has helped over 600 community groups in the last year.
These groups have brought together almost 40,000 women and men. Together, they have identified and developed solutions to address their health challenges.

“A child will be stronger and more well-educated if parents have fewer children close together.” Women and Children First has been supporting families in the Malga District of Ethiopia with their decision making around family planning. This has led to 88% of all pregnancies being planned - a 28% increase in just 4 years.
